Wednesday Night Migraine

Tuesday I went outside and scraped the ice off the driveway so I knew I would get a headache. That night, my shoulders were tight and the soreness started to kick in. I took IB 800's Tuesday and Wednesday. By Wednesday evening, my head started to hurt. Forget about the cramps I had on Tuesday...they didn't affect my head at all! I got through PMS without a headache! This is great.....So Wednesday night, I had about a 1 so I took an IB and Nathan rubbed me to sleep. He said I was sawing logs pretty loud so I take that as I slept good. Thursday I was sore and cloudy all day as usual after a migraine episode. My depression is back understandably with my dad real sick and all, but I am feeling good today. I am really starting to love this cold weather we are having. I hate to see it go because I am afraid the headaches will return! Yuck:-p Tonight is New Years Eve and I plan on drinking 2 glasses of wine. If I have a headache tomorrow, it was self induced! Happy New Year!!!

Snowed In

The mountains are beautiful but forget driving in this weather. Can you imagine going downhill in a car on snow? Yikes! My husband and I are snowed in and loving it. We haven't lost power fortunately but we are prepared just in case. Other people have lost power for hours. Snow like this is unusual around here so it is a nice change. I am thankful for it because my headaches haven't even registered on the scale! I have had a still muscle in my neck for 3 days, am PMSing and have a nice pimple on the side of my head. All these things normally give me a headache. Strange but the cold weather seems to play a part in all of this. Thanks for the snow!!!! Woooooohoooooo!

Twas the Night with No Migraine - Holiday Poem

Tonight in the house, I felt not a throbbing
The pain is all gone, so no need for sobbing.

It's time for the gifts, and the food and the cheer!
Oh no I feel pain, cause I drank a beer.

Step away from the table, the food and the drink.
and grab the ol ice pack, before you can't think.

The hour was great to spend with the fam!
On your way out, the door do not slam!

Blah! Humbug!

Yesterday was a continuation of the migraine from the day before. Monday I ended up with a 4. I took an 800 Ibuprofen, wore my ice turban and had my husband rub my shoulders and pull my hair. I woke up in the middle of the night and had no headache, but by the time morning came, I had one in my right eye. A cluster headache as they call them. It stayed the whole day. I took another 800 IB and it was a 1 all day and evening. By the time I went to bed, the headache was gone and I was able to sleep. Today I am cloudy and sore. I am staying active, sweeping, mopping the floors,  washing all the blankets, etc.

Kerosone Headache.....

Well, I was afraid this would happen. I have a strong feeling that I do not do well to change and this makes sense. We have been running the wood heater for some time now and this morning, we ran the kerosene. I now have pressure with tightness in my shoulders. My headache is a 1 right now:-/

Still Using My Get Out of Pain Free Card

I didn't realize this card was reusable over and over again, but here I am...out of pain still. It has been a week and a half and great! I guess it is the weather. The cold, dry air is good for me...weird. Not only that, I have been more active bringing in firewood, baking, playing my piano keyboard. Hmmm, well anyway, I am enjoying it

What Have I Done Different This Time!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I sure wish I could figure out what I am doing that is giving me relief from headaches. It has been over a week now and nothing. I am drinking caffeine like I usually do, sitting in front of the fireplace getting soot and smoke in my face, hauling wood, going to town, sitting at home, sleeping a lot. not sleeping when I get tired, eating the same foods and sitting in front of the computer a long time as always:-? I am at a loss......

I don't have a headache! I don't have a headache! Yea!!!!!!!!!

This is the best week in the world;-) I am enjoying each and every second of freedom.

Yet Another Freaky Free Day - Covered in Soot

Okay so he's not covered in soot but it was an awesome picture and I had to use it lol!

I pulled in a load of wood, salted the driveway and emptied the hot ash and coals from the fire. My nostrils were full of soot and I was covered in black ash. All this and no headache. I sat in front of the wood stove with the door open and everything. I am really beginning to believe there are times I am more sensitive than others. This would normally give me a raging migraine. I'm glad it didn't!!!!!!

Up the Shoulder I Feel the Pain To Give Tammy A Migraine!

Pain in my shoulder is creeping up to my head I'm afraid. Here comes the migraine! Pressure right now with neck stiffness and head nausia (Some people with migraines might know what I mean by head nausia).

Unexplainable Freedom

Okay....This is another reason why I keep this blog. Looking back, the week long headache must have been the propane. Of course, the rest of them are unexplainable. I watch what I eat, I try to maintain everything else and they just can't be avoided. Yesterday it snowed all day and me and my husband went outside and played in it. I got him good with a bucket of snow poured down his back;-) Yeah yeah he got me back...but getting him what sooo worth it. The day was spent helping him with his term paper. I helped him APA it which took several hours because of the length of the paper. I sat in front of the computer for a long time and still no headache. Today I have a sore muscle in my neck. I must have pulled it playing around outside but it may cause me a headache. Hope not!

Cloudy with a Chance of Migraine

I had an on off day today. I staretd to feel like a headache was setting in. It teased me all day. I was hungry the first time so I was fine after I ate something. Then this evening it started again. It turned into a 1 but I only took aspirin. With a little help from my husband, the headache went away. I still feel cloudy but the headache is keeping its distance. We shall see what tomorrow brings:-)

Oh Yeah I forget...I Have a Headache

See what I mean? They are just everyday life for me. I almost forgot to blog it. I went to town today and it started on the way home. Sometimes getting out gives me a headache I guess. I just can't win with these migraines. Right now I am wearing the famous "turban" as I call it. Here's a refresher pic:

My headache is about a 2 now. It stayed a steady 1 all day until now.

Back and Forth Night

After hauling in about 2 cords of wood, I started to get a headache. I drank Mountain Dew and it went away. Off and on all evening I would drink some dew and push the headache away. It never got over a 2 all evening and it was gone by bedtime. Today I an fine so far but I have had my face in the fire for a while this morning, trying to stoke it. I had to turn on the kerosene heater because it cooled off too much during the night. I just home the combination isn't deadly for me and a migraine forms.

No Pain No Gain...Exercise Causes Migraines...for Me

Not too bad. I started an exercise program for my back and it aggravated my head. Oh well, I need to strengthen my back so I will just have to deal with it. My back just keeps getting worse so I have to save what's left of it. Mild Degenerative something something....Whatever that means:-/ I figure if I can keep the muscles around the problem strong, I should be able to tolerate more. In the meantime, my headaches will have to be tolerated for now. I figure as long as I am doing something positive for my health, the headaches are acceptable. Usually after some time, I will get used to the exercises and the headaches should become less frequent. I have a 1 right now.

Nothing so far...

I have had bad cramps this month and last. Today is day 2 with cramps which never happens. The good thing is, I do not have a headache. My routine is the same as always. We even went out to lunch and ate pizza and a calzone. It is snowing today and the fire is blazing. I will continue to enjoy these headache free moments:-)

Relief

Yesterday was recovery day from the 9 I had the night before. I was sore all day with a 1/2 headache lingering but it was still a great day. Anything beats having a worse headache. Today has been wonderful. No headache at all. Cramps kicked in but that's okay....It's not a headache. The holiday baking has commenced. Peanut Butter Balls are made and Sugar Cookies are underway.....

Wore Out!

Migraines can really be draining. My husband woke up at 6am and found me on the couch. He put my head in his lap and rubbed me until he had to go to work....what a sweetie. It was the only sleep I got all night! It gave me enough relief to get some rest and I just got up at 11:30. It's a wonder why I can never get anything done. These stupid headaches keep me scared of trying to do anything. My whole body is sore after having a really bad headache. The 9 did me in....

I Can't Stop the Pain...Here it Comes Again!

This is a 9......Almost hospital bound. It is 2am. I used both of my ice packs already. I can't sleep because the pain is unbearable. My jaw hurts from clenching it, which does not help at all. My head is burning and the pressure is incredible. There is nothing I can do but cry. I hear my husband snoring, thank God. I keep him up so much with these stupid migraines. I will be okay. I will get through this.

Stupid Headaches

I have a 3 right now. It started around noon I guess. I felt tension all day but it wasn't a headache yet. PMS.... It's the Best! ......Blah! I will be taking Sumitrex and wearing my head wrap.

Headache Gone...For Now

No headache this morning Yea!!!  It finally went away yesterday afternoon but stayed all night long the evening before. It turned into a 2 or 3. I didn't get much sleep and was up till 2am or so. I remember stoking the fire at 4:30am so I fell asleep after that. I slept most of yesterday away since the stabbing pain in my eye would not go away. I took Midol but that didn't seem to help. It just finally eased up on its own. I can still feel the spot in my head that was hurting by my eye but it is towards the back right, behind my eye. Its like it stays sore after a headache sometimes. Weird:-p
